Complete Your Degree with Us
Whether you’re finishing your undergraduate degree, seeking a career change or pursuing an advanced degree, we’re here to help you achieve your academic goals. As a fully American-accredited university in Europe, we offer transferable credits from other recognized universities in the U.S., U.K. or Canada.
Transferring to Webster Athens is a simple process starting with our rolling admissions policy. That means prospective transfer students who have accumulated more than 30 credit hours from another accredited establishment have seven times a year to apply to our University.
To learn more about transferring credit, email our Admissions team so they can help you stay on track.
Visas and Permits
All students from outside the European Union must request a Greek Student Visa from the Greek Embassy or Greek Consulate in your country of residence before entering Greece.
Keep in mind that you should apply 10-12 weeks before the start of the semester, but don’t worry; we’ll guide you through the visa application process.
Our Application Process
Our Office of Admissions is open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and by appointment. We remain open throughout the year to facilitate inquiries for our admissions periods.
Summary of the application steps:

Transfer Student Admission
To be considered for transfer student admission, applicants should submit the following:
- A completed application for undergraduate admission. Students may submit the University's institutional application.
- A copy of the biographical page of your passport/Greek ID Card.
- A nonrefundable application fee.
- An official high school transcript. All transcripts issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a certified English translation.
- Official transcripts must be sent directly from your school or university to the Office of Admissions. Transfer students must also include official transcripts of all university work for a possible transfer credit evaluation. All academic transcripts must be in English. If they are not in English, an official certified English translation is needed.
- An official copy of test scores from either the ACT or SAT for applicants who attend U.S. high schools or international secondary schools that use English as the language of instruction. Scores listed on an official high school transcript are considered official.
- Applicants who are non-native speakers of English will need to submit official scores
for the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or equivalent exam (e.g., IELTS,
Cambridge or Michigan Proficiency) at the time of application. The scores required
for full admission are as follows:
- TOEFL: IBT: 80
- IELTS: Academic: 6.0
- Pearson: 53 Equivalent Cambridge, Oxford, NEAB, TEEP, Academic IELTS, London Certificate, and Pearson test results that are current can be considered in lieu of the TOEFL.
- Students who cannot document current evidence of English proficiency should contact the campus for on-site testing. In such cases, testing must be completed before the admission decision will be made.
- A 300-500-word essay that demonstrates your motivation, commitment and readiness for university life.
- One letter of recommendation from a high school guidance counselor, teacher or professor.
Note: Additional documentation might be requested by the Admissions Committee, and you may be requested to provide translations of certain documents as listed above. All application documents submitted become the property of the University and cannot be returned or reproduced. Keep a copy of all documents submitted.
The minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent. Academic achievement in programs that use a different assessment scale is evaluated in the context of the relevant academic system.
English as a Second Language Contingent Admission
Some applicants are accepted but may have additional English language proficiency needs that can be met by taking English as a Second Language (ESL) courses. These students will be accepted on a contingent basis. Students admitted with an ESL contingency must meet the University's English language proficiency requirements before their contingent admission status can be waived.
Transfer credits are not automatically awarded as institutions and credit system differ from country to country. Consequently, during the application process, an applicant may request a preliminary evaluation as to how many credits might be transferable. The official final evaluation of transfer credit is made once all original documents are submitted and the student is officially enrolled. Course equivalency requirements are determined by the appropriate academic department and/or Advisors.
Each application is reviewed by the Admissions Committee. We look for evidence of your potential to be successful at our University. Primary consideration is given to your academic performance, the rigor and content of your coursework, your documented English language proficiency, your motivation, commitment and readiness for university life, as demonstrated in your application essay and discussed in your academic recommendations.
Once you are accepted you will have to secure a student visa to be able to travel to Greece and begin classes. The visa process may take some time depending on the country of origin. It is very important that you allow yourself time for this process so you can arrive in Athens before the beginning of the desired semester and not after it has already begun.
The Municipality in Athens requires specific documents from the student in order for them to issue the official certificate, which allows you to apply for a student visa. To learn more, see Visas and Permits.
Prospective students are invited to visit the University and talk with the admissions counselors regarding their educational objectives. Appointments may be arranged by calling the Office of Admissions at +30 211 990 5300 or +30 211 990 5309.
