Financing Your Education
At Webster Athens, we know financial considerations are important when making academic-related decisions. That’s why we’re here to help assist our students in securing a brighter future through student loans and scholarships.
Together, we’ll help you achieve academic excellence by ensuring you have access to our available financial aid programs, the necessary eligibility requirement and an understanding of our application process.
Visas and Permits
A student visa is required to study in Greece and for enrollment in Webster Athens. Our staff will guide you through the visa application process; however, it is your responsibility to obtain your student visa prior to your arrival. Prepare to begin the visa process 10-12 weeks before the start of your semester.
Financial Aid and Scholarships
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Renewal Application. Your application (file) must be complete by March 1 for maximum consideration. Applications completed after March 1 will be awarded from remaining funds. Student loan applications are accepted throughout the academic year. However, early application is encouraged. The Webster University FAFSA code is 002521.
Please note that the financial aid procedure is administrated solely by the Webster University Financial Aid office in St. Louis, Missouri, U.S. after an acceptance letter has been granted. A Financial Aid Officer is assigned to all eligible students.
Once all information is received by the Financial Aid Office in St. Louis, you will receive an award letter in the mail. Award information is also available on Webster University’s website under your Connections login.
In order to assist as many students as possible, Federal Financial Aid cannot award 100% of a student’s demonstrated need. Financial aid is designed to supplement a family’s contribution; therefore, a student should be prepared to finance a portion of their cost of education.
Please note financial aid is not disbursed until after your studies begin. You must arrange your own funding for travel and living costs for at least one to two months after the beginning of your study.
We offer tuition assistance for the direct descendants or dependent sons/daughters of Webster University alumni. The “Second Generation Legacy Scholarship” may be applied throughout the duration of the student's Bachelor education, a maximum of four years.
For Freshmen and Transfer Students
Incoming second-generation freshmen or transfer students are eligible as long as they show satisfactory progress as full-time students and remain in good academic standing.
Admission Criteria
Students interested in applying for the “Second Generation Legacy Scholarship” must meet the Webster Athens admissions requirements. This scholarship is for students enrolled in a full-time program of study.
